Staterooms

Of the 1,233 passenger cabins, 45 are suites including two Garden Villas at 4,390 square ft. each, and ten Courtyard Villas surrounding an exquisite private pool and patio area. There are 134 mini-suites. They are larger than standard staterooms, and include an extended balcony, a full-sized sofa and a small bathtub.

Sixty percent of the 1,080 standard staterooms are outsides, and of those, 54 percent have balconies.

Standard staterooms are compact, with brightly colored drapes, spreads, and carpets; small sofas provide seating. The beds are very comfortable, with fluffy white duvets. Like Dawn, Star and Spirit, this ship has the split bathroom configuration, where you can close off the toilet and the shower from the sink/vanity area.

There's a nifty interactive television system that can be used for ordering room service, checking your onboard account, selecting a pay-per-view movie and even accessing your e-mail. Television stations include CNN, Fox News, ESPN, a free daily movie channel and shipboard information channels.

All staterooms come with a mini-fridge and a coffee/tea pot with complimentary coffee.

We really appreciate the way NCL manages to utilize every square inch of available space so that the cabins are efficient and well-organized. We do wish that the little desk area in standard cabins was somewhat bigger, or that there was another place to park the coffee maker, but it's a minor quibble in a room that's otherwise so nicely furnished.

Courtyard Villas, ten spacious, top-of-the-ship suites. From each of these villas, one view opens onto the sea, thanks to their large, private balconies. The other, interior side opens onto a private courtyard, shared only by the other privileged passengers with Courtyard and Garden Villa accommodations. This private courtyard includes a whirlpool and its own swimming pool – luxury features unique to this ship! Plus, they share a small gym, a private sundeck and a private lounge, too!

The fact that Hawaii draws increasing numbers of vacationing families isn’t lost on NCL. This ship offers plenty of staterooms (including Suites and Junior Suites) that interconnect allowing family groups access to two, three, four or even five bedrooms. Another nice touch is the larger, “compartmentalized” bathrooms with the toilet, sink and shower separated by sliding, pocket doors.

Garden Villa Deck: Deck 14 Garden Villas A1 feature a separate bedroom with a king-sized bed and a private bathroom with whirlpool tub and separate shower; floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open up to private balconies; two additional separate bedrooms with private bathrooms with showers; a living room; and a dining room. Each villa also features a CD/DVD library, minibar, refrigerator, minisafe, television, music console, direct-dial telephone, and a hairdryer. Garden Villa guests have access to the exclusive concierge lounge and private courtyard area with a pool, whirlpool, and sun deck. Butler service and concierge available. Approximately 2,320-sq.-ft. suite with 1,035-sq.-ft. balcony.

Courtyard Villa Deck: Deck 14 Courtyard Penthouse Suites A3 feature a separate bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a private bathroom with a whirlpool tub and separate shower; floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open up to a private balcony; a separate children's bedroom with a private bathroom with shower; and a living and dining area. Each suite also includes a CD/DVD library, refrigerator, minisafe, television, music console, direct-dial telephone, and a hairdryer. Courtyard Penthouse Suite guests have access to the exclusive concierge lounge and private courtyard area with a pool, whirlpool, and sun deck. Butler service and concierge available. Approximately 487-sq.-ft. suite with 85-sq.-ft. balcony.

Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony Deck: Deck 8, Deck 9, Deck 10 Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony BA feature two lower beds that convert to a double bed; floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open up to a private balcony; a sitting area; and a private bathroom with shower. Each stateroom also includes a refrigerator, minisafe, television, music console, direct-dial telephone, and a hairdryer. Approximately 167-sq.-ft. stateroom with 38-sq.-ft. balcony.

Interior Stateroom Deck: Deck 10 Interior Staterooms I feature two lower beds that convert to a double bed, as well as a sitting area, private bathroom with shower, refrigerator, minisafe, television, music console, direct-dial telephone, and a hairdryer. Approximately 138-sq.-ft. stateroom.
