Staterooms
There are 15 categories with staterooms attractively furnished in soft tones and featuring two lower beds that convert to queen, small bathroom with shower, hairdryer, cabin-controlled thermostat, duvet, TV, and radio. Inside cabins measure 140 sq. ft.; standard outside cabins are 152 sq. ft; superior deluxe suites are 176 sq. ft. Owner's Suites afford such added conveniences as living room, separate bedroom, picture windows, refrigerator, stereo with CD library and tub and shower -those on Sun Deck have balconies. Penthouse suites have sitting area, refrigerator and balconies. All suite guests enjoy concierge service.
A few notes: Staterooms on Promenade Deck open to the jogging track. Some people may wish to steer clear of forward cabins on Star Deck and International Deck as guests need to traverse a dining room (International Deck) or the show lounge (Star Deck) to get to other public areas or use other decks to walk across. There are 41 Category G cabins on Norway Deck with fully obstructed views and 41 Category F staterooms on Norway and Promenade Decks with partially obstructed views. Some Superior Deluxe Penthouses on Norway Deck have partially obstructed views.
The cabins are comfortable and pleasantly decorated. A standard outside cabin is a terrific deal at 160 sq. feet, with safe, hair dryer, color TV and separate sitting area. Storage, however, ranges from barely adequate with minuscule closet and drawer space to comfortable, depending on cabin category. Pack light. I had no problem finding room for everything in my stateroom. The bathroom is small, but has several shelves for toiletries and the shower can fit a tall man. Inside cabins include the same amenities and are spacious, comfortably accommodating three or four passengers. The Penthouse Suites are 194 sq. feet with floor-to-ceiling windows, as are the superior penthouse suites, which offer private balconies, mini-refrigerators and concierge service. The jogging track runs around the Promenade Deck and sadly, not all passengers adhere to the posted time constraints for using the deck. Consequently, those in cabins below may be get an earlier wake-up than they intended.
