Staterooms
Cabins are not large in any category. However there is adequate storage space for a seven-day cruise. The original cabins have a small collapsible ironing board built into the desk (no iron provided). Inside cabins are slightly smaller but similar in layout and are adequate for two but tight for three or four. The highest category cabins have a king size bed, a marble bathroom with tub and a bay windowed sitting are. No balconies are offered in any cabin category. Suite passengers are also offered the services of a concierge.
There are 10 categories with staterooms attractively furnished in soft tones and featuring two lower beds that convert to queen, small bathroom with shower, hairdryer, cabin-controlled thermostat, duvet, TV, and radio. Inside cabins measure 140 sq. ft.; standard outside cabins are 152 sq. ft; superior deluxe suites are 176 sq. ft. Owner's Suites afford such added conveniences as living room, separate bedroom, picture windows, refrigerator, stereo with CD library and tub and shower. There are no balconies on this ship. Important notes: all cabins on the port side of the ship are non-smoking. Staterooms on Promenade Deck open to the jogging track. Some cabins have fully obstructed views and some with partially obstructed views so choose carfeully.
Every ship searches for that perfect balance between cabin space and public space. On the Majesty, you'll find that inside staterooms tend to be numerous and on the small side, but when the sun is shining and the pool is beckoning on a hot Caribbean afternoon, who wants to hang out in their cabin anyway? Public spaces on the Majesty tend to be light and airy and there are plenty of quiet corners where you can escape from it all.
The nice thing about the staterooms is that if you have a window, it'll be a large picture window, not a porthole. Another great feature is built-in ironing boards in all the cabins (ask your cabin attendant for the iron). All staterooms include the usual amenities: two lower beds (which can usually be arranged as a queen-size bed), a TV, mini safe, duvet, small bathroom with shower, and a hairdryer. Inside cabins range from about 115-124 square feet, and you'll have a lot more space in the outside staterooms, which range from 147-172 square feet. All port side (left side) staterooms are designated non-smoking.
Cruise passengers who like to feel the ocean breeze from the privacy of their own cabin should know that none of the staterooms have balconies. That being said, suites generally include large bay windows that let in plenty of natural light and they also feature marble baths and 24-hour butler service. In other words: you won't be suffering if you're staying in an Owner's Suite.
