Dining

NCL has added its popular signature alternative restaurant, Le Bistro. The restaurant seats 70 guests and is decorated in coral, green and gold colors. NCL also added The Pasta Cafe and an Asian themed restaurant, Chopsticks. The Pasta Cafe seats 40 and has been decorated with modern Italian influences with cobalt blue and cherry wood accents. A blue granite top has been added on the bar where Norwegian Crown guests can sit and watch the chef prepare traditional Italian cuisine.

The Seven Continents Dining Room continues the stained glass and metallic accents of the rest of the ship in its ceiling treatments. Though these design attributes create an ambiance of bold elegance, the acoustics in the room are compromised. Sound levels are high and conversations across larger tables are difficult. Service is excellent, and the quality of the food is good, though we found, that, with the exception of the excellent desserts, recipes, preparation and presentation were a bit lackluster.

Lunch and breakfast buffets are served in the airy, well-laid-out Yacht Club indoor/outdoor restaurant. Waiters stand by to assist diners with their trays.

NCL’s “Freestyle Dining” program requires that each ship have several dining venues and provide flexible dining times. To accommodate that program, the Norwegian Crown was refurbished to increase the number of restaurants from two to six – a more than adequate number given the ship’s size and passenger capacity.

The centrally-located, 600-seat Seven Seas Restaurant Norwegian Crown SevenSeas restaurantserves as the Crown’s largest, grandest restaurant. NCL’s signature alternative restaurant, Le Bistro, is also onboard, serving upscale food in intimate surroundings. There’s an added fee here, and reservations are requested. The Pasta Café is an NCL favorite, too, and she tops the Crown high up on the Horizon Deck with beautiful views out to sea and delicious Italian cuisine.

For the Pacific Rim, Asian fusion experience, explore the menu at Chopsticks. For a covered, all-weather, always-casual meal, head for the buffet-style Café Italia, where pizza, pasta, and grilled specialties are offered. The Yacht Club is the Crown’s poolside choice. Open for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the nautical-themed restaurant is buffet-style. Don’t forget room service, available 24 hours a day!
