The biggest improvement in staterooms is 85 percent of Serenity's staterooms have balconies-compared to 60 and 65 percent respectively on Harmony and Symphony. Cabins vary widely in size and amenities-from 226 square feet for a Category C Deluxe Stateroom without a verandah to the top-of-the-line Crystal Penthouse at 1,345 sq. ft. But they all come with fully stocked mini bars, data ports for laptops (for an extra 75 cents per minute on your laptop-which costs $25 reconfigure, or borrow one of Crystal's for $5 per day), and DVD players. On your television, you'll find news stations such as CNN and Sky TV plus Discovery Channel programming and movies.

This ship has twice as many penthouses as the last two Crystal ships -- which is good because they're really nice, with CD players and Jacuzzi tubs (though nowhere near the size of cabins on Radisson and Silversea). Starting at 269 square feet, the penthouses include butler service. Butlers bring passengers hors d'oeuvres in the evening, make their onboard dinner reservations, and handle their dry cleaning requests. Mine even tied my husband's bow tie for him on formal night. And, in the penthouses, bathrooms have separate showers and Jacuzzi tubs and double sinks. And, as in all cabins, they have the signature Aveda products.

Penthouse Suite with Verandah Deck: Penthouse Deck 11 Penthouse Suite with Verandah PS features a queen-sized bed or two twin beds and a picture window in the bedroom, marble-appointed bathroom with full Jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower, private verandah, dining area, living space, walk-in closet, and separate bedroom area. Also includes security safe, refrigerator, bidet, vanity in bedroom, data port with Internet access, flat-screen TV and DVD, personal butler service, welcome bottle of champagne upon embarkation, complimentary shoe-shine service, pressing and packing/unpacking upon request, same-day laundry and dry cleaning, personal voicemail, direct-dial ship-to-shore phones, and twice-daily housekeeping, including nightly turndown service. This room also offers complimentary 24-hour room service, including specialty restaurant fare; complimentary soft drinks, beer, and bottled water in room; complimentary wine; plus choice of liquor from set menu upon embarkation. Deluxe Stateroom with Verandah Deck: Penthouse Deck 10 Deluxe Stateroom with Verandah AA features a queen-sized bed or twin beds, private verandah, seating area, marble-appointed bathroom with full bathtub/shower combination. Also includes remote color television and DVD, data port with Internet access, security safe, refrigerator, "welcome" bottle of champagne upon embarkation, complimentary shoe-shine service, and unpacking and packing upon request, same-day laundry and dry cleaning, complimentary launderettes, personal voicemail, direct-dial ship-to-shore phones, twice-daily housekeeping, including nightly turndown service, Frette bathrobes, and Scandinavian down duvets and down pillows. Also enjoy complimentary 24-hour room service, complimentary wine plus choice of liquor from set menu upon embarkation, and complimentary soft drinks and bottled water in room. Approximately 269-sq.-ft. with verandah.

Deluxe Stateroom with Large Picture Window Deck: Promenade Deck 7 Deluxe Stateroom with Large Picture Window C features a queen-sized bed or twin beds, large picture window, seating area, and full bathtub/shower combination. Also includes security safe, refrigerator, data port with Internet access, remote color television and DVD, Scandinavian down duvets and down pillows, and Frette bathrobes. This room also offers complimentary 24-hour room service, personal voicemail, direct-dial ship-to-shore phone, same-day laundry and dry cleaning, complimentary launderettes, twice-daily housekeeping, including nightly turndown service, and complimentary soft drinks and bottled water in room. Approximately 226-sq.-ft.

Nine guest decks with 548 staterooms on five decks, including four Crystal Penthouses with verandah (1,345 sq. ft.), 32 Penthouse Suites with verandah (538 sq. ft.), 64 Penthouses with verandah (403 sq. ft.), 82 Penthouse Staterooms with verandah exclusive to Crystal Serenity (269 sq. ft.), 286 Outside Deluxe Staterooms with verandah (269 sq. ft.), and 80 Outside Deluxe Staterooms (225 sq. ft.).

Cabins have spacious sitting areas, large closets with shoe racks, showers, bathtub, double sinks and a telephone in bathroom, 14-channel remote control color TV and DVD player, data port for laptop computer hook-up, telephone system with private voice mail and automated wake-up call, personal safes, twin beds that convert to queen-size, refrigerators, full line of bathroom amenities, magnifying makeup mirrors, bathrobes. Penthouse amenities also include butler service, binoculars, slippers, Riedel glassware, personalized stationery, luggage tags for priority delivery, welcome champagne and fully-stocked complimentary in-room bar upon embarkation, flat-screen television, walk-in closet, full Jacuzzi bathtub. The largest four penthouse suites have a guest bathroom, butler's pantry, library, private workout room, cordless phone and surround sound.
