Revel in Freestyle Cruising - the freedom to enjoy your choice of unscheduled onboard amenities. Watch the world unfold by the pool. Later, revive with a cappuccino in Java Cafe. Eat as you please with Freestyle Dining at 10 unique restaurants. Little shipmates are in for nonstop fun at Splashdown Kid's Club, while teens can dance and hang out in Club Underground. Find your fortune in Casino, then toast to your adventure at the champagne bar.

Welcome aboard the luxurious new Norwegian Pearl– the brand new sister ship to the extremely popular Norwegian Jewel. Built expressly for Freestyle Cruising, Norwegian Pearl features a host of amazing amenities, including the very first bowling alley to hit the high seas.

Ten distinct, international restaurants assure you’ll always find what you’re hungry for. After dinner, 13 bars & lounges create a dazzling array of entertainment options. Sparkling pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, full-service luxury spa and more are yours to enjoy. And when it’s time to retire for the evening, Norwegian Pearl’s wide array of accommodations are sure to impress with incredible Garden Villas, luxurious Courtyard Villas, Suites, Balcony Staterooms and value-conscious Inside Staterooms.

Norwegian Pearl will feature all the attributes of NCL’s dynamic modern Freestyle Cruising fleet. She features multiple restaurants, vibrant public rooms, versatile, family-friendly accommodations; and NCL’s popular new style of accommodations, Courtyard Villas, which along with each ship’s two Garden Villas, make up the biggest, most luxurious, most innovative suite complexes at sea.

This beauty will bowl over the cruise competition with a “striking” innovation – a full size, four lane, ten-pin bowling alley. The bowling alley is part of an all-new, all-day entertainment, sports bar and nightclub complex called Bliss.

Though a near-clone of NCL's successful Norwegian Jewel and Pride of Hawaii, the Norwegian Jewel will bowl you over with one important distinction: the first-ever bowling alley aboard a cruise ship! Flanking the ship's Sports Bar, the 4-lane alley is full-size and will likely attract the looky-loos as well as dedicated bowlers.

Norwegian Pearl bowls a strike with these highlights, as well:

  • Garden & Courtyard Villas - an NCL exclusive! Measuring out to 5,750 square feet, each Garden Villa features a living room, dining room, private courtyard with hot tub, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a private exercise room and a private, upstairs sun deck and cabana. Courtyard Villas share access to a private courtyard with pool, hot tub as well as upper-deck cabanas.
  • Family Friendly! Norwegian Pearl is one of the "family-friendliest" ships afloat with hundreds of interconnecting rooms and third and fourth guest capacities. Plus, a terrific youth program with facilities to match, four pools plus a kid's pool, a kid's café, a video arcade, and Freestyle Cruising flexibility makes this ship a perfect choice for families!
  • 13 Bars and Lounges: From martinis to malt beer, champagne to shots of tequila, this ship offers a bar you can call home. Plus, there's a Cigar Bar, the Bliss Ultra Lounge with its bowling alleys and the giant, 3-level Stardust Theater.
  • 10 Restaurants: Two main restaurants with rotating menus would be enough for most ships - but not for an NCL ship. Choose from French, Asian, Italian, and Latin - steakhouse, burgers, salads and sushi! Most come at no additional cost; others tack on a low surcharge.

Fitness and Reacreation

The Pearl locates its ultra-spacious South Pacific Spa & Beauty Salon forward on the ship – with great views out to sea. Those views work beautifully with the Relaxation Suite and men’s’ and women’s Relaxation/Thermal Suites. Even the men’s and women’s Steam Rooms and Sauna Rooms have views out to sea.

There are over 20 private treatment rooms offering rejuvenating skin and muscle therapies – “luxuries” that somehow seem so perfect for any cruise vacation.

A bubbling aqua-jet pool beckons to ease those tired, cocktail-tipping muscles. The Body Waves Fitness Center offers a generous space devoted to cardio machines as well as a separate area for resistance training, thanks to rows of first-rate machines and racks of free weights. A separate Aerobics Room is provided, too. Spinning, yoga and stretch classes are offered here.

One deck up is the dedicated Jogging Track (versus a “dodge-the-deckchair” add-on). A giant chess and checkers board are up here as well as Deck Games, Shuffleboard, Golf Driving Nets and a large Sports Court for basketball, volleyball or tennis. And yet another deck up puts you face-to-face with the Pearl’s Climbing Wall – a first for NCL.

Entertainment

Entertainment-wise, the big news aboard the Norwegian Pearl is the bowling alley, of course. It’s the first ship so equipped. Even if you’ve never lifted a bowling ball, you’re sure to be visiting the Bliss Ultra Lounge & Night Club. The four, regulation-size bowling alleys flanking the club create an easy draw. It’s a great place to gather with friends and the sounds of balls and pins only adds to the fun atmosphere. NCL has scored a winner with this one.

The big entertainment production numbers aboard the Pearl are shown here at the Stardust Theater. Seating is arranged in “theater-style” fashion rather than in a show lounge banquette arrangement found on some older cruise ships. This configuration allows for almost half the ship’s guests to be comfortably accommodated at one time. Plus, the venue’s three levels provide almost obstruction-free views.

The Spinnaker Lounge is a signature aboard NCL ships. Second in size only to the Stardust Theater, this nautically-themed venue occupies a windowed, forward-facing location up on Deck 13. A long, curling bar and large dance floor (this room is the ship’s disco by night) make it one of the Pearl’s most popular entertainment venues. Nearby is the Sky High Bar, also with great views – over the ship’s two main pools.

For bar-hopping, our recommendation is to make your way down to Deck 6. The Pearl has grouped four bars: the Corona Cigar Club, Magnum’s Champagne & Wine Bar, Shaker’s Martini & Cocktail Bar and Malting’s Beer & Whiskey Bar together. No driving worries – and no parking Karma needed. Just arrive and have fun; each bar draws energy from its neighbor. A convenient stroll next door puts you at the front door of the Pearl Club Casino (and bar).

There’s more, of course. Topsiders Bar puts you within splashing distance of the Tahitian Pool and the Star Bar – a cozy piano bar – makes a perfect place to drop in for a cocktail before your dinner at Cagney’s Steakhouse.

By day, the Java Café, located within the ship’s atrium, serves up some nice coffees and teas to jolt you on your way. By night, it serves adult beverages with a softer jolt in mind.
