If the panoramic views aft of the two-seating, two-level Metropolitan Restaurant and its opulent decor in 1940s style with geometric motifs in blues, reds and gold does not capture your attention, the cuisine of Master Chef Michel Roux will -it's delicious. Lean and light selections are offered; special diets are available (request at least 15 days before sailing). Well-spaced tables for six, eight and 10 -and four each for two and four are featured. The service, by a European-trained staff, is attentive. A quintet entertains. The creme de la creme afloat is The Olympic, a 134-seat alternative restaurant (fee is $30 per person) with Edwardian decor highlighted by the original paneling from the premier restaurant on the classic liner Olympic, sister of the Titanic. It offers a demonstration kitchen, dine-in wine cellar and tableside cooking of such dishes as Caesar salad, steak Diane and crepes Suzette. Reserve early! The outdoor-indoor Ocean Cafe offers buffet-style breakfasts and lunches and the no-fee Ocean Grill offers casual dinners of steaks, rotisserie chicken and salmon with waiter service -great on port days. Other food treats include Elegant Tea, and themed buffets or Gourmet Bites (tempura, mini-empanadas, etc.) at midnight. Complimentary 24-hour room service includes sandwiches, boxed gourmet pizzas, salads and desserts (guests can also order from dining room menus during meal hours). This area could use improvement during the inaugural: two orders arrived with wrong items.

Entering transatlantic passenger service in 1911, the RMS Olympic embodied the opulence and grandeur historic ocean liners are known for. Asked to be of service in World War I, RMS Olympic earned the name "Old Reliable" for her wartime heroics.

On Millennium, the Olympic alternative restaurant is among the most stunning we've ever encountered. It has the original Edwardian wood-carved paneling from the Olympic, sister ship of the Titanic. The three-hour dinner ($25 per person) is pure theater, a flourish of waiters in white tie cooking entrees table-side and a great deal of flambe. It is the service that is outstanding here. The food quality was on par with that of the dining room, although there are signature dishes not found elsewhere onboard, including Rack of Lamb en Croute and Steak Diane. The impressive list of international wines range in price from $18 to $450 a bottle.
The very elegant two-level main dining room is located in the stern. Central to this restaurant is the two-deck-high glass windows that provide warm, natural light during daytime and a panoramic close-up view of the ocean. Tables are widely spaced, and sound levels in the room permit easy conversation. The lido café, deck 10, are the setting for casual dining from 6:30am to half past midnight including lunch and breakfast buffets, pizza, afternoon tea and late night snacks. Floor to ceiling windows and glass floor areas provide excellent views. With four buffet lines, there is very little waiting. The rear section of the café is called the Grill. It is the place for casual dinner, served a la carte. Reservations are required and dinner is served between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. As well, poolside, hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza are available during the day. 24 hour room service is also available.
