Total Choice Dining is the flexible dining program which includes four seatings for dinner in the main dining rooms, alternative Bistro dining every evening and an increased number of service staff. Passengers are assigned a table for dinner at one of four seatings; 5:45 p.m. or 6:15 p.m. and 8 p.m. or 8:30 p.m.. In addition to the expanded dining room seatings, the poolside lido eateries are converted into Seaview Bistros between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. each evening, offering buffet dinner with no reservations or advance notice required.

There are two main dining rooms. Carnival does make an effort to seat singles, honeymooners and families with each other, so advise the maitre d' if you want to be seated with similar fellow cruisers. The ship's Lido restaurant, adjacent to the pool, serves excellent breakfast and luncheon buffet, with several choices of entrees. The 24-hour pizzeria is one of the most popular venues aboard these ships, also located in the lido restaurant. In cabins, a limited 24-hour room service menu is available.

Sophisticated dining

Carnival has set the table for a first-class dining experience in the Destiny Dining Room. The meals, including aged New York steaks, fresh seafood, low-fat Spa Carnival entrees and superb wines will be a celebration for your taste buds. The attentive service and delightful presentation complete these true culinary events.

Casual dining

For a more relaxed atmosphere with a spectacular view, sample the cuisine and the scenery at the Paris Restaurant. Dine, either indoors or outdoors, on favorites such as: salads, pasta, chicken, shrimp and savory steaks. The food is delicious and the view is amazing. Enjoy!

Satisfy every appetite

We haven’t forgotten about our youngest cruisers. Our children’s menu features plenty of kid-pleasing selections including” spaghetti with meatballs, hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, roasted turkey, assorted desserts and much more. For added convenience, we also offer the “Fountain Funcard” which, for a one-time fee, provides unlimited soft drinks throughout the cruise.

The two main dining rooms, Pride and Spirit, are not at all crowded and service is quite good from maitre d' to assistant waiters. Tables range from booths for four to tables of 10. Three meals a day are also available in Horizon Court on Lido Deck, through room service and a 24-hour pizzeria. The Horizon Court, with its various-sized tables, modern metallic chairs and ever-present neon overhead provides good service but passengers carry their own plates to the table and have to wiggle past the line to get drinks from another area. The same dinner menu that is offered in main dining rooms is available in Horizon Court with waiter service. A Nautica Spa menu provides calories and carbohydrate totals for some menu items and special diets are available with advance notice.

Room service comes on time, and is available 24 hours a day but offers a limited menu. New staggered serving times on Imagination, as well as other Carnival ships, mean early sitting is at either 5:45 or 6:30 p.m. and late sittings at 8 or 8:45 p.m. Midnight buffets continue to be popular on Imagination where passengers, for the most part, party heartier and stay up later than on similar mass market cruise ships. Carnival's food service has been kicked up several notches and presentation and variety are superb.
